Day 4....MOTHER Africa reintroduces me to my husband
Day 4....I wake up, today I feel ok- I still have no energy, I still can't eat, I'm weak, I'm dizzy and I can officially say I'm suffering from vertigo- BUT I'm not puking! I hadn't puked that night. I think today I accepted that this was a time of renewal, the purge was over and clarity loomed over me. I was gracious. Today was the only free day we really had and I was going to SLEEP! Once again I felt sorry for my husband. He, who NEVER seems excited about going to a pool, woke up bright and early and enjoyed breakfast with our group (I stayed behind). He came back to the room and asked if I wanted to go swimming- I lied and told him I'd join him shortly, but shortly never came. Many from our group went out and toured another slave dungeon on this day. Later that afternoon we were scheduled to enjoy a drum circle. I unfortunately opted out and continued to rest in the hotel. My husband, however, joined the group and the drum circle where he was named Kwesi and asked to lead the group. Rumor has it he was dancing and drumming and all kind of shit I'm not used to seeing. He was like a little boy coming back to tell me about his experience. I saw him differently. He reminded me of the boy I met when we were 17. He was silly, and so open! I realized I hadn't seen this David in a LONG time! I missed HIM- this was my Peeper, the original carefree, open, talkative, Peep! I forgot I even missed him lol. I began to love him differently in this moment. As he went on and on about the days events that I missed, I felt the butterflies that I thought had flown away forever fly back into my belly. I felt a different type of connection- like we CAN conquer the world!
